Let us relate to a real-life example:A customer has a part assembly that requires various features, such as the part profile, surface deformations, to be determined and the results compared against a reference or set of quality criteria. A 3D based Vision solution is ideal for this scenario.
However, the customer may not be au fait with the 3D Vision technology currently available and its benefits. They may not have integrated such a solution prior and feel that they don’t know where to start. This is where we can help….
With any project we want to start visualising the data from the 3D sensor as soon as possible. Our platform called SensorView, allows us to quickly integrate any 3D sensor. This allows us to get meaningful results back to you early in the project.
We have developed SensorView, a Vision platform, that allows the configuration of any 3D Vision sensor, integrated with any motion system (if required), replete with a detailed suite of analysis tools. In effect, this allows us to create a design concept, employing the correct hardware and software tools, enabling the customer to quickly make decisions germane to the direction of the project. The result for the customer is a detailed Proof of Concept, exposing the potential costs, risks, route to deployment along the way.
We initially review the part/assembly, in conjunction with the customer User Requirements Specification. This allows us to understand the nuances of the part and determine the appropriate 3D Vision sensor. There are a myriad of sensor technologies of various hues available. We can determine the most applicable sensor, compatible with the part, having reviewed the customer specification.
Not all end solutions centre around a static sensor. We can integrate any motion system as part of the design. This may be a simple XY stage or a high-end motion platform, whereby, accuracy, resolution and repeatability are paramount. Again, we can quickly merge the specific motion platform, thus creating a scan system in an abridged timeline.
SensorView is the umbilical between the sensing, motion, analysis, and production.
This stage is iterative. We make use of all the available filters that have been developed to create a bespoke solution, all using standard & validated filters. Each filter can be visualised and provides instant feedback in how well it is performing with the Sensor data.
Now we can acquire the part profile and associated parameters, turning to the Analysis phase. Normally this entails the use of a third-party analysis software. We obviate the need for such, as SensorView has a vault of analysis tools. These inbuilt features allow for detailed part analysis. Such a varied feature set provides basic measurement profiles, through to complex part sectioning. Should a need arise for a non-standard profiling analysis, we can design and tailor extraction modules particular to the customer requirement.
